AT&T® FAQ

Does DIRECTV lose signal in bad weather?

Like most satellite communication, any interference happens due to inclement weather affecting the dish. However, since the signal is strong, this just means that in snow or heavy rain, you may need to clear snow or debris from the dish to clear your signal. This can be done with a simple broom or cloth, and there are even accessories that can keep your dish warm so snow and ice won’t freeze on it. The signal itself should never be interrupted by inclement weather because satellite technology has improved, making “rain fade” a thing of the past.
